Scorpions are a heavy metal band from Hanover, Germany, known for their 1980s rock anthem "Rock You Like a Hurricane" and their singles "Wind of Change", "No One Like You" and "Still Loving You". The band has sold over 75 million albums worldwide.

The Scorpions were formed in 1959 in Battersea, South West London and released two singles in 1961. Founder members were brothers Ted Barber lead guitar (1959 - ) (born Edward Joseph Barber, 17 November 1940, Moseley, Surrey); John Barber bass (1959 - ) (born John Alan Barber, 30 December 1944, Battersea, South West London); Mick LeDieu (1959 - ). Ivor Knight drums (born Ivor Kenneth Knight, 16 September 1941, Battersea, South West London), joined in November 1959.

They recorded some songs with Joe Meek, that would have been released as the The Ferridays (in honour of Jerry Lee Lewis' birthplace), but these only were released in the 1990s, thanks also to the on-going interest in Joe Meek recordings.
