Following the September 11th attacks, it was included in Clear Channel's list of songs deemed inappropriate.

"Santa Monica" is a single by Theory of a Deadman, featured on the Gasoline album. The song is about a man whose girlfriend left him to go to Santa Monica, California to have a better life. It was released as the second single in Canada in June 2005, and as the fourth single in the United States in March 2006.
