The Myth ( ) is a 2005 Chinese film directed by Stanley Tong.

Due to Mallika Sherawat's racy image in Bollywood, rumors circulated that she landed the role over many other Indian actresses (Aishwarya Rai, Lara Dutta, Priyanka Chopra) because she was willing to do full frontal nudity in this film. When these rumors were spread, Stanley Tong and Jackie Chan (I) held a special press conference in India to say that they picked Mallika over many others because of her great charm and genuine acting talent, and that the film didn't even have a kissing scene, let alone full frontal nudity.

Aishwarya Rai was the original choice to play the Indian princess but she was on tour at the time and her busy schedule didn't allow her to take the role.

Jackie Chan (I) was stabbed in the arm while filming a stunt.

Jackie Chan (I) fell off a horse and couldn't move his legs for the rest have the day. After a few days he was reported doing fine again.

When Jack is talking on the phone in the car, his contacts display lists Stanley Tong as a contact. Stanley Tong directed this film, and is also credited for numerous behind the scene roles.

Hee-seon Kim, one of the female leads, is from Korea. She learned her Chinese lines by memorizing the sounds. Sometimes production would change the script a little, but had to keep Hee-seon's lines about the same because of her limited Chinese.

In the outtakes, Jackie Chan (I) fights with his rival who is on wires, but doesn't use any himself. He overdid a sweep kick and fell off the scaffold about 15 feet to the ground onto a mattress. The outtakes show him falling and climbing back up to do the scene again.

Jackie Chan (I) and Hee-seon Kim sang the theme song "Endless Love". Chan sings Mandarin whereas Seon sings in Korean.
