Samuel Lloyd, Jr. (born January 31, 1963) is an American actor and musician, perhaps best known for his portrayal of beaten down lawyer Ted Buckland on the Bill Lawrence sitcom Scrubs.
He has appeared on Seinfeld ("The Cigar Store Indian", 1993, and "The Pie", 1994), The West Wing (as a conspiracy theorist adamant about his belief that the White House has information about extraterrestrial activity), and The Drew Carey Show. He had a guest role on Bill Lawrence's sitcom Spin City as a city hall bureaucrat, similar to his role as Ted Buckland in Scrubs. He was also a regular on the short-lived sitcom Double Rush, starring Robert Pastorelli. He has a recurring role on Desperate Housewives as Bree and Rex's psychiatrist, who recently falls victim to a demented suitor of Bree's. Lloyd's character showed a surprising amount of compassion for the perpetrator, despite being on a hospital bed with a broken leg.
Lloyd is the nephew of Back to the Future star Christopher Lloyd and the son of actor Sam Lloyd. He and Christopher Lloyd both guested on Malcolm in the Middle, Sam as a housing lawyer and Christopher as Hal's father.
Lloyd is also a singer with the a cappella group The Blanks who have made many appearances in Scrubs under the name "The Worthless Peons" (also known as "Ted's Band"). He also plays the bass in the Beatles tribute group "The Butties".
Sam Lloyd is an English freelance sports presenter and broadcaster currently based in the UK. She is the daughter of David and Yvonne Lloyd. Her father is a rugby professional, and she shares her parents' enthusiasm for sport.
After completing a journalism, film and broadcasting degree, Sam went on to work freelance for several key radio and television stations - terrestrial and satellite. She regularly broadcasts for Radio Wimbledon, the official radio station of the Wimbledon Championships. Tennis is one of her key interests.
