Born in London in 1966, Sacha Gervasi is an English screenwriter whose directorial debut, "blank">Anvil! The Story of Anvil" premiered at the Sundance Film Festival in January 2008. The film chronicles the few peaks and countless valleys of Canadian heavy metal band, Anvil who have been together for more than three decades.
He got his film writing start with _The Big Tease which he co-wrote with Craig Ferguson and went on to pen "The Terminal" which was made into a film in 2004 directed by Steven Spielberg and starring Tom Hanks. [He is one of only two English screenwriters to have their scripts made into movies by Stephen Spielberg. The other is Tom Stoppard for 'Empire of the sun'. -blank">The Daily Telegraph, London] He has subsequently written 'Comrade Rockstar' for Tom Hanks, 'How to Marry A Millionaire' for Nicole Kidman, 'Dallas' and is also co-writing 'Henry's Crime' for Keanu Reaves. He is currently developing a feature film about the life of the late character actor Herve Villechaize with _Peter Dinklage attached as the lead. The project is based on Gervasi's days as a journalist and his interview with Villechaize, believed to be the actor's last.
An alumnus of Kings College, London, he went on to work for the British Poet Laureate, Ted Hughes at The Arvon Writing Foundation, the charity Hughes started with Sylvia Plath.
He moved to Los Angeles in 1995 to attend the graduate screenwriting program at UCLA Film School where he twice won the BAFTA/LA scholarship. While in the program, he supported himself by writing for The Times, The Observer and Punch among many.

While in London, he co-founded the group Future Primitives but left before they became famous and better known as Bush.
He is the father of Bluebell Madonna Halliwell, daughter of _Geri Halliwell, born on 14 May 2006.
