Low budget comedy sketch series purporting to show the programming of a low key regional television service. Written by Eric Idle of 'Monty Python's Flying Circus' fame. A popular feature was the music of Neil Innes (one time member of the eccentric Bonzo Dog Dooh Dah Band), especially his Beatles parody The Rutles: They later featured in their own film: 'The Rutles (All You Need Is Cash)'. Shortly after "Monty Python and the Holy Grail" wrapped, Eric Idle took the musical Neil Innes along to create a sketch comedy series on almost no budget, set in Britain's heartland. The show looked at the programming of a local television station in the smallest county in Britain. Popular features included documentaries, news shows, dramas, and the ever-present musical numbers, all a bit looney. It ran until Christmas 1976. Written by Garrett Gilchrist
