The Runaways was a teenage, American all-girl rock band that performed in the 1970s. The band is best known for the songs "Cherry Bomb," "Queens of Noise," "Neon Angels (On the Road to Ruin)" and "Born to Be Bad." "Cherry Bomb" appeared on the movie soundtracks for Dawn, Portrait of a Teenage Runaway, RV and Dazed and Confused. The band toured through America and Japan, also visiting the UK, Sweden, Finland, Norway, Belgium, France, the Netherlands, Switzerland and Germany. The career of the band was short (1975-1979), successful, and tempestuous.
"Runaway" is the first single from Janet Jackson's greatest hits album, Design of a Decade 1986/1996 (1995). The song was written and produced by Janet, Jimmy Jam, and Terry Lewis. It was one of two new songs included on Design of a Decade 1986/1996. Janet described the song Asian-, Indian-, and African-influenced with a hard hip hop beat. Janet keeps her fun-loving spirit alive. It is similar to her hits "Escapade" and "Whoops Now". Toward the end Janet breaks the fourth wall with the lyric 'Wait, I didn't quite hit the note/that wasn't such a good time'.
"Runaway" was a number one Billboard Hot 100 song in the spring of 1961 by Del Shannon. It was written by Shannon and keyboardist Max Crook, and became a major international hit.
Runaway is a Bon Jovi song. The song is heavily influenced by the rockband Journey. It was originally written and recorded in 1983, by Jon Bon Jovi (then still under his given name of John Bongiovi), before the formation of the band Bon Jovi. The track was recorded by Jon Bon Jovi and a group of studio musicians known as "The All Star Review," which included Hugh McDonald (bass) (who now plays bass for the band Bon Jovi, although he is an unofficial member)and Dave "The Snake" Sabo, who was a childhood friend of Jon and played guitar on the track. Sabo would later be replaced by guitarist Richie Sambora, but he went on to form the popular band Skid Row, which played as an opening act at many Bon Jovi shows.
In 1983, local radio station WAPP 103.5FM "The Apple" had a contest, held in conjunction with St. John's University, to search for the best unsigned band. After the song won the contest, it became an instant hit in the summer of 1983.
Runaway was later re-recorded and released as the first single from Bon Jovi's self titled debut album. It hit the Top 40 on the Billboard Hot 100 in early-1984 and became the band's first Top 40 hit in US.
Runaway is the debut single by the Irish family band the Corrs. It was first released in September 1995, and had middling chart success except in Ireland, where it reached #7, and Australia, where it peaked at #10. In the UK singles chart, it reached #42. The song was then re-released in 1999, remixed by Tin Tin Out and reached #2 in the UK singles chart, being held off from the top by Britney Spears' debut single, "...Baby One More Time".
The song was written by Andrea, Sharon, Caroline & Jim Corr, and Andrea Corr has said the first time she sang it in front of her parents, she was embarrassed because of the line "make love to me through the night". She said she knew her mother would be thinking "where did she learn that?!"
"Runaway" is the fourth single released from iiO's debut album, Poetica.
"Runaway" is a 2006 single by the British band Jamiroquai, taken from their 2006 greatest hits album, High Times: Singles 1992-2006. The song can be interpreted as a rant at the band's/Jason's then-was record label, Sony BMG, who he signed an 8-album contract with, because it seems that the label has a leash on the band's creative influence in the records. This is backed up by Jason's rather loud exclamation of the words "Runaway... BACK TO THE OLD SCHOOL!", at the live performance of the song at the London Jazz Cafe. Moreover, like said early as September 2006 by a fan called "SL", through the lyrics of Runaway JK speaks directly to/of Sony BGM Music: SL's Theory
