It took place on January 30 2005 at the Save Mart Center in Fresno, California, which is why it used the West Side Story theme. The official theme song was "Find The Real" by Alter Bridge.

The main event was the Royal Rumble match, which Batista won after last eliminaing John Cena. The main matches on the undercard were Triple H vs. Randy Orton for the World Heavyweight Championship and John "Bradshaw" Layfield vs. Kurt Angle and The Big Show in a Triple Threat match for the WWE Championship.
