Roy Castle OBE (August 31, 1932 in Scholes, near Holmfirth - September 2, 1994 in Buckinghamshire ) was an English dancer, singer, comedian, actor, television presenter and musician. He attended Honley High School, where there is now a building in his name. He was a talented jazz trumpet player.

Long time presenter of the BBC TV programme "Record Breakers", based on the Guinness Book of World Records, and holder of several tap-dancing records.

Although a life long non-smoker, it is believed that the lung cancer which took his life was caused by breathing second hand smoke in the clubs where he performed.

Four children: Daniel (born 1965), Julia (born 1967), Antonia (born 1969) and Benjamin (born 1973).

His son, Ben, is a very successful saxophonist.

Was nominated for Broadway's 1966 Tony Award as Best Supporting or Featured Actor (Musical) for "Pickwick."
