Rose Ann Scamardella (b. 1947) was an Eyewitness News anchorwoman on WABC-TV in New York City from 1972-1984. She started off as a reporter for Eyewitness News and in 1978 became an anchor for the broadcast. She remained in that position until leaving Eyewitness News.
The name of Gilda Radner's character "Roseanne Roseannadanna" on Saturday Night Live in the late 1970s was a play on her name.
Rose Ann is a 1968 alumna of Marymount Manhattan College.
She went on to teach at the Salisbury School in Salisbury, CT during the 1990s and into 2000.
As of 2007, Rose Ann co-hosts a television show, Crossroads Magazine, with Father John Gatzak; it is produced in cooperation with the Office of Radio and Television of the Archdiocese of Hartford and airs on two Connecticut television stations, CW20 and MyTV9.
