Roger Allam (born 26 October 1953) is an English actor, best known for his stage career. He played Inspector Javert in the original London production of Les Misérables.
He was awarded the Laurence Olivier Theatre Award in 2000 (1999 season) for Best Supporting Actor for his performance in Money at the Royal National Theatre, Olivier Stage.
He was nominated for a Laurence Olivier Theatre Award in 2000 (1999 season) for Best Actor for his performance in Summerfolk production at the Royal National Theatre, Olivier Stage.
He was nominated for a 2004 Laurence Olivier Theatre Award for Best Actor of 2003 for his performance in Democracy at the Royal National Theatre: Cottesloe and Lyttelton Stages.
He was awarded the 2002 Laurence Olivier Theatre Award for Best Actor of 2001 for his performance in Privates on Parade at the Donmar Warehouse in London.
His son William (with his partner Rebecca Saire) was born Summer 2000.
