Rockets Redglare (May 8, 1949 - May 28, 2001) is the stage name of American character actor and stand-up comic Michael Morra. He appeared in over 30 films in the 1980s and 1990s, including a number of independent films, and mainstream films such as After Hours (1984) and Desperately Seeking Susan (1985).
Was a bodyguard for the band the "Sex Pistols" and later for bandmember Sid Vicious.
Was a roadie for the band "The Hassles" which included a young unknown Billy Joel.
Grew up in Brooklyn and in Long Island.
Bodyguard for Jean Michel Basquiat.
He produced a show called "The Rockets Redglare Taxicabaret" in which the likes of Steve Buscemi and Mark Boone Jr. performed along with Rockets doing stand-up and one act plays.
