Robert Peter Williams (born 13 February 1974) is a Grammy Award-nominated, 15-time BRIT Award-winning English singer-songwriter. His career started as a member of the pop band Take That in 1990. He left Take That in 1995 to begin his solo career, after selling 25 million records with the group.
Since then, Robbie Williams has sold more albums in the United Kingdom than any other British solo artist in history . He has sold 70 million records worldwide. His album sales stand at over 53 million, with singles sales over 17 million. Williams entered in the The Guinness Book of World Records when he announced his World Tour for 2006, selling 1.6 million tickets in one single day. He has been the recipient of many awards, including fifteen BRIT and six ECHO awards. In 2004, he was inducted into the UK Music Hall of Fame, after being voted as the Greatest artist of the 1990s.

On July 11, it was revealed that Huddersfield Town manager Andy Ritchie had an offer for Williams accepted, with personal terms agreed on July 13, but the following day during his medical, it was revealed that he had a hairline fracture, with the deal virtually collapsed. However, after he was given time to recover from his injury he was signed by the Terriers on August 24, 2007 for an undisclosed fee.
He finally made his first team debut for the Terriers in their 4-0 defeat by Leeds United at Elland Road on December 8, 2007. He scored his first goal for the club in Town's 1-1 draw at the Withdean Stadium, against Brighton & Hove Albion. That was also Town's first ever goal at the Withdean Stadium.

Robbie Williams made his first-class debut for Durham University Centre of Cricketing Excellence in three matches during 2007 as a six foot right-arm medium-fast bowler , before impressing for the _Middlesex second XI. He made his List A and County Championship debuts for Middlesex in September 2007. Opening the bowling with Steven Finn versus Essex, he achieved the distinction of taking five wickets in his first innings in county cricket.
Robbie Williams (died December 20 2007) was the first Indigenous Australian councillor to sit on the Brisbane City Council . He had held the role only since October 2007, but had been tipped to win a seat in the council elections in March 2008. Previously Williams had served three terms as a regional councillor with ATSIC and was later the ATSIC commissioner for Brisbane and southeast Queensland. He was widely known for his community work, and was the founder and chair of First Contact Aboriginal Corporation for Youth, an organisation dedicated to improving the lives of indigenous youth, in 1992.
Williams was the son of Hazel, an Aboriginal with connections to the Yugambeh language group, and his father was Bob Williams, a butcher. He trained and worked as a butcher for several years before gaining a diploma in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander welfare and joining the Australian Public Service, working in the Department of Social Security.
He was married to Trish and had three children. He died of a heart attack at the age of 45 on December 20 2007.
