Richard K. Nongard is an author, psychotherapist, and hypnotist. Described by former Texas Gov. Ann Richards as a "ray of light for many people over the years" (1994) for his work with Texas youth. His books have become important texts in modern pscyhotherapy and hypnotherapy.
He is the architect of Advanced Praxeological Programming (APP), a method of therapeutic hypnosis that draws from both directive modalities and the indirective approach of Milton Erickson. He was awarded the 2007 Hypnosis Achievement award by the National Guild of Hypnotists (NGH), the nation's oldest and largest association of professional hypnotists.
Nongard has presented lectures to the European Branch of the American Counseling Association and many other professional groups worldwide Neues Perspectives(2005,2006). Nongard is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, a Certified Personal Fitness Trainer and a Certified Clinical Hypnotherapist.
Nongard also has had a lengthy entertainment background, and started out as a magic student of Eugene Burger in the early 1980's. He has also performed magic and stage hypnosis on the Las Vegas strip, including KRAVE at Planet Hollywood as part of the "Hypnosis Unleashed" show with Terry Stokes and Michael Johns.
