Richard Leech (November 24 1922— March 24 2004) was an accomplished actor born in Dublin, Ireland. He was also a doctor before building a successful career in film and television.
His numerous film credits include The Dam Busters (1955), Night of the Demon, Tunes of Glory, Ice-Cold in Alex, Young Winston (1972), Gandhi (1982) and the acclaimed The Shooting Party.
On television Richard Leech appeared in The Barchester Chronicles, Smiley's People, three episodes of The Avengers in different roles, Red Cap, Danger Man, The New Avengers, The Duchess Of Duke Street, and starred in a Doctor Who story called The Sunmakers.
Has two daughters Sarah Jane and Eliza
The Godfathers to his two children are Noel Coward and Alec Guinness.
Attended Trinity College in Dublin, studying for three medical degrees.
Owned a small English vineyard.
Originally pursued a career in medicine, practicing for one year before he became an actor. He wrote a regular column, Doctor in the Wings, for World Medicine.
