Richard James Appel (b. May 21, 1963 in New York) is a writer and producer of TV shows. While attending Harvard University he wrote for the Harvard Lampoon. He has since written for The Simpsons, Bernie Mac, Kitchen Confidential and King of the Hill, for which he was executive producer. He created and wrote two episodes for the short-lived FOX series, A.U.S.A.. He is married to Mona Simpson, the sister of Apple founder and CEO Steve Jobs. He Also Works on Family Guy as Rich Appel.
