"Remember Me" was British Sea Power's second single and the first released after signing to Rough Trade Records. It was also the first track to be recorded with longtime producer Mads Bjerke. Whilst it is generally felt to be an uplifting song, the lyrics deal with a decline into old age and the mental decay that comes with it. It has been played at almost every gig the band have ever played and was re-recorded for their debut album, The Decline of British Sea Power. That version was also released as the final single from The Decline of British Sea Power and had some success in the UK charts. B-side "A Lovely Day Tomorrow" was also re-recorded three years later and released as a limited edition single. The CD also features "Birdy", an instrumental track that was rumoured to have included lyrics that never made the release since Yan never got around to recording them.
Remember Me is The Zutons' third single to be released from their 2004 debut album Who Killed...... The Zutons?.
"Remember Me" is a 1971 single recorded and released by pop-soul singer Diana Ross on the Motown label.
The song was Ross' third top forty pop hit within a year peaking at number sixteen on the pop singles chart and reaching the top ten in the UK where it peaked at number seven there. It was the leading single off Ross' 1971 album, Surrender.
The song, written and produced by longtime Ross collaborators Ashford & Simpson had Ross tell an ex-lover to "remember the love" that the two once shared and remember her in particular.
"Remember Me" was the second track on Hoobastank's self titled debut album, Hoobastank. it was released as a single in 2002 following the successful first single "Crawling in the Dark.
However, "Remember Me" was a downside from "Crawling in the Dark" and reached a disappointing #23 on the Modern Rock Tracks chart and did not chart on the Billboard hot 100, leading some to label Hoobastank as a One hit wonder, the band later proved this wrong with the success of the next single, "Running Away".
There are 2 versions of the song, the Album version which includes a long intro and the video version with a short guitar intro.
