Thomas Ray Williams, known as Ray Williams (born October 14 1954, in Mount Vernon, New York), is a retired American professional basketball player in the NBA. He was a 6'2½" (1.89 m), 188 lb (85 kg) guard. He averaged 15.5 points per game and 5.8 assists per game during his NBA career, with a career-high of 20.9 points per game with the New York Knicks in 1979-80. In the same year, he averaged 5.0 rebounds and 6.2 assists per game.
Williams, who played at the University of Minnesota and San Jacinto Junior College, was selected 10th overall in the 1977 NBA Draft by the New York Knicks. After playing for six different teams, he retired in 1987. He was the younger brother of Gus Williams, who also played in the NBA.
Raymond Williams, also known as Ray Williams (born September 9, 1959 in Holyhead, North Wales) is a Welsh weightlifter.
Williams was voted Young Welsh Sports Personality of the Year in 1977 after being placed in the junior weightlifting championships. He joined the army and served with the Royal Welch Fusiliers until 2003.
Returning to the sport, Williams won the Welsh weightlifting championships in 1983 and the Celtic Nations title the following year.
Williams won the gold medal in the featherweight class at the 1986 Commonwealth Games in Edinburgh, beating David Lowenstein of Australia and Jeffrey Brice, a fellow Welshman. He returned to form at the 2002 Commonwealth Games in Auckland, equalling the world record in the 40-45 class.
In 2003, Williams was appointed as the first National Weightlifting Coach for Wales.
Raymond Reginald Williams (born 1937) is an Australian businessman and corporate criminal. In 2005 he was imprisoned for two years and nine months for filing false financial statements and failing his duty as a director. After Williams' criminal conviction, charities began removing his name from their donor plaques, and he was stripped of his Order of Australia medal by order of the Governor-General.
