Randy West (born Ira Weisblut in The Bronx, New York) is an American television personality best known for his work on game shows. Randy has been an announcer on American television game shows since 1990. His credits include Supermarket Sweep, Trivial Pursuit, Hollywood Showdown, and a substitute role on The Price Is Right, including primetime specials. He continues with the show's live stage version, The Price Is Right - LIVE, that plays at Harrah's Hotels and Casinos across the United States.
Randy's voice has also been heard on talk shows including Jimmy Kimmel Live and The Chuck Woolery Show, comedy programs such as The Andy Dick Show, award shows including the Nickelodeon Kids' Choice Awards, sitcoms such as It's Garry Shandling's Show, as narrator on informational programs including the Court TV series Hollywood and Crime, and specials including Game Show Moments Gone Bananas and several The Price Is Right prime time Million Dollar Spectaculars.
Randy West was mentored through the early years of his broadcasting career by the legendary television game show announcer Johnny Olson after they met in 1971 on the set of the syndicated version of What's My Line?. Following Johnny's death in 1985, the Olson family entrusted Randy with the many mementos, photos, clippings, awards and scripts that Johnny had saved during his 50+ year career in broadcasting. An extensive tribute to Johnny Olson is included at West's personal web site, as is a separate tribute to Rod Roddy, who died in 2003.
Before Randy began finding success in game shows, he appeared as a contestant on several shows, including the syndicated version of What's My Line?, To Tell The Truth, Press Your Luck, All Star Blitz, Sweethearts, and Face The Music. Randy was also the last champion on Hit Man, though he did not win the $10,000 top prize.
Randy West (born Andrew Jay Abrams October 12 1947) is a pornographic actor who began his career in 1978. Originally from somewhere in New York State, he originally hoped to play professional baseball someday (played baseball for the University of Miami), but he instead decided to pursue a career as a singer. He performed with several rock bands and decided to move to California in the early 1970s to pursue his musical career. He became a producer of adult films in 1993 and has appeared in over 1,300 films.
In August 1980 he posed as the centerfold model in Playgirl magazine. Later he also was cast as Robert Redford's body double in the film Indecent Proposal. He has worked with numerous porn actresses early on in their careers, most notably Jenna Jameson and Tera Patrick.
With such series as Up and Cummers (1-129), I Love Lesbians, Real Female Masturbation (and others), Randy West's videos focused on "Real people having real sex - what a novel idea!" In one final video he stated that one of his greatest pleasures was watching his female partners have orgasms. Episodes had a fairly standard format: A short interview with the female performer to establish some background facts. Whether these were somewhat fictionalized or not, the chat established the young lady as an individual. Then came a succession of sex acts, each with the female performer an avid participant, including in almost every case, her orgasm.
He is also listed at number 29 on the "List of Top 50 Porn Stars of All Time" by Adult Video News magazine.
Randy West (born 1960, Indianapolis, Indiana) is a noted American fine art photographer, perhaps best known for his distinctive and avant-garde use of the photographic medium, as seen across several series of his work. West is also on the faculty of the School of Visual Arts, and a director of the school's Master of Fine Arts program for photography, video, and related media.
Was the final champion on the short-lived game show "Hit Man" (1983).
Was a contestant on "Press Your Luck" very early in the show's run.
