"The Premonition" is an episode of the original The Outer Limits television show. It first aired on 9 January, 1965, during the second season.

Premonition is a 2007 drama film directed by Mennan Yapo and starring Sandra Bullock and Julian McMahon. The film was shot at locations throughout Louisiana.

This movie is not based on the 2004 Japanese film Yogen, which also was released with the English title Premonition.

This Thriller/horror movie tells the tale of a young girl who is terrified that her insane mother will take her away from her beloved foster mother. One day, the crazed real mother attempts to contact the girl at school, but her foster mother has a premonition and gets there in time to protect the girl. Eventually though, the real mother and her boy friend, a carnival clown, succeed and takes her away, leaving the bereaved foster parents to enlist the assistance of a parapsychologist to help them interpret the foster mother's terrifying dreams and psychic connection to the girl and find her before it is too late. When Sandra Bullock was restrained and struggling in the hospital scene she really did cut herself by accident. So instead of using a body double for the injection, it really was Bullock who got the Tetanus shot in the scene.

Julian McMahon also starred in the TV show "Charmed" (1998). Ironically in this show he was in love with a witch called Phoebe (Alyssa Milano) who also had the power of premonitions.

SPOILER: The original script was to have Linda save Jim, but that seemed too "Hollywood," so they ended up making it more dark to surprise audiences.

SPOILER: It was Sandra Bullock's idea to have Linda pregnant at the end of the film.

The film was supposed to be shot in New Orleans, but Hurricane 'Katrina' forced the filmmakers to choose another location.
