Powell and Pressburger was the British film-making partnership of director Michael Powell and writer Emeric Pressburger, also known as The Archers. They made a series of influential films in the 1940s and 1950s, and in 1983 were recognized for their contributions to British cinema with the BAFTA Academy Fellowship Award, the most prestigious award given by the British Academy of Film and Television Arts.
