Pocahontas: The Legend is a 1995 drama film that fictionalizes the young life of the historical figure of Chief Powhatan's daughter and her relationship with John Smith. This film was directed by Danièle J. Suissa and stars Sandrine Holt as the titular heroine.
This is the second feature film based on the life of Pocahontas that was released in 1995, the other being Disney's animated feature, Pocahontas.
Englishmen come to explore and settle the new world. There they find natives who are curious about their "firesticks" and strange customs. One Englishman, John Smith, is captured by the natives, and begins to learn their customs and beliefs.
