"Please" is the fourth single from U2's 1997 album, Pop.
Similar to the classic "Sunday Bloody Sunday", the song is about The Troubles in Northern Ireland. The single cover for this song features the pictures of four Northern Irish politicians — Gerry Adams, David Trimble, Ian Paisley, and John Hume (clockwise from top left). Two months before the release of the single, live versions of "Please" and three other songs from the PopMart Tour were released on the Please: Popheart Live EP in September 1997.
"Please" is an R&B song written by Scott Storch, Vincent Herbert, Kameron Houff, and Makeba Riddick for American singer-songwriter Toni Braxton's fifth studio album, Libra (2005). The song was released as the album's first single in June 2005, and was produced by Storch. Due to lack of promotion from her record label, Blackground Records, it failed to chart on the Billboard Hot 100. Instead, the single charted on the Bubbling Under Hot 100 Singles at number four, making it one of Braxton's lowest-charting singles in her career. "Please" was the only single from Libra to have a music video shot—apart from "The Time of Our Lives", which made the album's European edition—, directed by Chris Robinson. The song appeared in a 7th Heaven episode entitled "Mama's Gonna Buy You a Diamond Ring", aired on October 3, 2005.
