Phillip Pine (July 16, 1920 - December 22, 2006) was an American film and television actor, writer, director, and producer. He was born in Hanford, California.
In a career that spanned seven decades, Pine was best known for portraying the character Colonel Phillip Green in the classic Star Trek episode "The Savage Curtain".
Dark-browed, shady-looking character actor known for playing serious-minded professionals and assorted menacers and mobsters, mostly on TV during the 50s, 60s and 70s.
As a child became interested in acting while in high school.
With varied stage and touring experience by the time he made his Broadway debut in "Counter Attack" in 1943, he replaced acting icon James Dean (I) as the character of Bachir in the 1954 Broadway play "The Immoralist" when Dean headed off to Hollywood to become a brief film star.
Appeared on Broadway with James Dean (I) in the short-lived "See the Jaguar" in 1952. It closed in three days.
Remembered on TV as the evil "Colonel Green" on the original "Star Trek" (1966) TV series.
He is not related to actor Robert Pine (I) as some sources indicate.
