Sir Peter Thomas Blake (born June 25, 1932, in Dartford, Kent) is an English pop artist, best known for his design of the sleeve for The Beatles' album Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band. He lives in Chiswick, London, UK.
Peter Blake (born 8 December 1948 in Selkirk, Scotland) is a British actor. He was trained at the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama. First professional appearance at the Edinburgh Festival in Frank Dunlop's production of The Winter's Tale in 1966. He also worked with the Glasgow Citizens Company. He has appeared in many British television series, including Minder, Bergerac, Agony and The New Statesman.
In 2005 he earned plaudits playing Sgt Bill Kent in the long running detective television program Taggart, who appears to be involved in a suspicious death at an army training camp.
Peter also made a very memorable appearance in the BBC comedy Ever Decreasing Circles, playing the character Rex Tynan.
His best-known role was that of Kirk St Moritz in the original, British version of the sitcom Dear John which for a brief period made him a familiar face to television viewers.
Sir Peter Blake, KBE (October 1, 1948-December 6, 2001) was a New Zealand yachtsman who led his country to two successive America’s Cup victories. He previously won the Whitbread Round the World Race in 1989, and the Jules Verne Trophy in 1994 by setting the fastest time around the world of 74 days 22 hours 17 minutes 22 seconds on catamaran Enza. Blake was appointed a Knight Commander of the Order of the British Empire in 1995 for services to yachting, and received an honorary doctorate in 2000 from AUT University. He was murdered by pirates on 6 December 2001 during an environmental exploration trip in South America.
Peter Blake is a consulting Producer with the Fox TV show House. He graduated from Harvard Law School in 1991. He was also a History and Lit major at Harvard College. Prior to attending Harvard, he graduated from The Collegiate School in New York City. Just out of Law School, he became a management consultant with Monitor in Cambridge, MA. He has also written for the TV Shows Law & Order, The Practice, and the movie The Ice Princess.
