Paul Stewart (May 13, 1908-February 17, 1986) was an American character actor known for his tough, guttural voice. He frequently portrayed villains and mobsters throughout his lengthy career.

Born Paul Sternberg in New York City, Stewart graduated from Columbia University and made his Broadway theatre debut in the play Two Seconds in 1931. A few years later he met Orson Welles, who invited him to join the Mercury Theatre, where he participated in the notorious 1938 radio broadcast of The War of the Worlds. He was a founding member of AFTRA.

Sternberg's many screen credits include Citizen Kane, Twelve O'Clock High, Champion, Kiss Me Deadly, The Bad and the Beautiful, In Cold Blood, The Day of the Locust, S.O.B., and W.C. Fields and Me, in which he portrayed Florenz Ziegfeld. On television, he appeared in Playhouse 90, Alfred Hitchcock Presents, Alcoa Theatre, Dr. Kildare, Wagon Train, Gunsmoke, It Takes a Thief, Mannix, The Name of the Game, McMillan & Wife, The Rockford Files, Lou Grant, and Remington Steele, among many others. He also directed some television episodes, among them "Little Girl Lost", from the Twilight Zone.

Stewart was married to big band singer/actress Peg La Centra from 1939 until his death from a heart attack in Los Angeles at age 77. He was characterized in the 1999 television movie RKO 281.

Paul Stewart (born March 24 1952 in Jamaica Plain, Boston, Massachusetts) is a former professional ice hockey player with the World Hockey Association and the Quebec Nordiques of the National Hockey League. Stewart played with Mark Messier in Cincinnati for the Cincinnati Stingers and he was responsible for getting Messier his first beer. His last season of professional hockey was 1979-80 with the Quebec Nordiques. After his playing days were finished, he had a lengthy career as a National Hockey League (NHL) referee.

Paul Stewart (born 1965 Dumbarton, Scotland) is a former racing driver and the son of three-times Formula One World Champion Jackie Stewart.

Paul competed in British Formula Three Championship from 1989 to 1990 and in Formula 3000 from 1991 to 1993, both for his Paul Stewart Racing. During the period, he was a teammate of Marco Apicella in 1991, David Coulthard in 1992 and Gil de Ferran in 1993. De Ferran won the first victory for the team in 1993. Therefore, Paul Stewart gave up the career as a driver in the year and decided to concentrate on his role as team manager for running the team from 1994. This F3 team won at least three consecutive championships, 1992 to 1994.

In 1996, he and Jackie formed Stewart Grand Prix, which competed in Formula One from to . At the end of 1999, Ford purchased the team, which became Jaguar Racing for .

Stewart successfully battled cancer in 2000 and is now rarely seen in the F1 paddock.

Canadian pianist Paul Stewart made his orchestral debut in 1981 with the Toronto Symphony, as a last-minute substitute for an indisposed pianist. A re-engagement to perform Tchaikovsky's First Concerto was hailed as “brawny and convincing…there was an overriding solidity and power to his playing that made it the most satisfying of the evening.” Since then, Mr Stewart has established an enviable career as one of Canada’s busiest and most sought-after pianists.

In 1996, Paul Stewart made a highly successful recital debut at London’s Wigmore Hall (broadcast by the BBC),and at the Moscow Conservatory played Rachmaninoff’s Fourth Piano Concerto with the Moscow Radio Symphony Orchestra,a performance broadcast by radio throughout Russia and subsequently released on a critically acclaimed CD. As a soloist with orchestras, in solo recital and in chamber music, Mr Stewart has been heard throughout Canada, the United States, Europe and Asia.

Paul Alan Stewart (born 7 October, 1964 in Manchester) is an English former professional footballer who played for the full England side.

Stewart started his career as an apprentice with Blackpool, turning professional in October 1981. He made his debut for the Seasiders as a substitute for Dave Bamber in a home draw with Rochdale on February 10 1982. For the remainder of the season, he alternated between midfield and forward. It wasn't until Sam Ellis' taking over as manager from Allan Brown that Stewart found his true role, at centre-forward. In his final season (1985-86) with the Tangerines, he notched-up 21 goals and helped Mark Taylor net fourteen.

After over 200 first team appearances, he joined Manchester City in March 1987 for a fee of £250,000, then a welcomed record for hard-up Blackpool. On November 7, 1987 he was one of three players, the others being David White and Tony Adcock to score a hat-trick in a 10-1 victory over Huddersfield Town.

In total that season, he scored 24 goals, convincing Terry Venables to sign him in June 1988 for Tottenham Hotspur for £1.7m (a portion of which went to his first club, Blackpool). Stewart made his debut for Spurs on 1 October 1988, as a substitute in a 2-2 draw at home to Manchester United. Bought as a striker, when his goals dried up, he was successfully converted to a midfield role and went on to win full England honours.

On January 5 1991, Stewart returned to Bloomfield Road when Tottenham beat Blackpool 1-0 in the Third Round of the FA Cup.

Stewart was transferred to Liverpool during in July 1992 for £2.3m, but was plagued by injuries over the next four seasons and made his final appearance for Liverpool during the 1993-94 season, although he was contracted to the Anfield club until March 1996.

He had loan spells at Crystal Palace (January 1994), Wolverhampton Wanderers (September 1994), Burnley (February 1995) and Sunderland (August-November 1995), before joining Sunderland on a free transfer in March 1996 and helped them win promotion to the Premier League as Division One champions. He was unable to keep them in the Premier League after their relegation he signed for Stoke City.

His spell at Stoke City was his last at senior club, and he played 24 games in the 1997-98 Division One campaign before retiring from senior football. Stoke were relegated to Division Two that season.

Stewart then signed for non-league side Workington.

He has since given up playing completely and now lives in Poulton-le-Fylde, Lancashire.

Paul Stewart (February 27, 1892 - November 13, 1950) was a U.S. Representative from Oklahoma.

Born in Clarksville, Arkansas, Stewart moved with his parents to Poteau, Indian Territory, in 1894 and to Red River County, Choctaw Nation, Indian Territory (now a part of McCurtain County, Oklahoma) in 1897. Self-educated. He entered the mercantile business at the age of thirteen at Spencerville, Indian Territory. In 1910 moved his mercantile business to Haworth, Oklahoma, where he continued its operation until 1919. He was admitted to the bar in 1915 and commenced the practice of law. Postmaster at Haworth 1914-1922. He served in the Oklahoma State house of representatives 1922-1926. He moved to Antlers Oklahoma, in 1929. He was editor, owner, and publisher of the Antlers (Oklahoma) American, a weekly newspaper from 1929 to 1950. He served as member of the State senate 1926-1942, serving as Democratic floor leader in 1929 and 1930 and as president pro tempore in 1933 and 1934. Acting Governor in 1933. He engaged in cattle raising, farming, and hotel business.

Stewart was elected as a Democrat to the Seventy-eighth and Seventy-ninth Congresses (January 3, 1943-January 3, 1947). He was not a candidate for renomination in 1946 to the Eightieth Congress. He resumed newspaper publishing business until his death in Antlers, Oklahoma, on November 13, 1950. He was interred in City Cemetery.

Paul Stewart (Born July 10 1987) is an Australian Rules Footballer who currently plays for Port Adelaide in the AFL and Woodville West-Torrens in the SANFL. He was taken in the second round in the 2006 AFL Draft, pick number 23 overall from Woodville West Torrens, and was drafted onto Port Adelaide's senior list. He was part of the young guns Port Adelaide recruited in the 2006 draft, with teammate Brett Ebert saying the group is the best recruits he has seen at the club in four years.

In 2006, he started in the Eagles (Woodville West Torrents) Under 19’s and by the end of year, was a league premiership player. He was in the side that won the 2006 SANFL Premiership. Can play either in the midfield/wing or as a forward, and was already a fan of Port Adelaide before being drafted. He has not made his debut yet for Port Adelaide, but wears jumper number 14 when in Port Adelaide colours.
