John Keith Patrick Allen (March 17 1927 - July 28 2006) was a British actor and voice actor.
Allen was born in Nyasaland (now Malawi), where his father was a tobacco farmer. After his parents returned to Britain, he was evacuated to Canada during the War where he stayed to finish his education at McGill University in Montreal.
He returned to England in 1953 and made his film debut in Hitchcock's Dial M for Murder (1954). He subsequently appeared in character roles in many films, including Night Creatures, The Wild Geese, The Sea Wolves and Who Dares Wins. He was also lead actor in the adventure series Crane.
He was a regular in ITC television series during the 1960s and early 1970s including The Baron, The Champions and UFO, although he never had an ongoing role in any of these series.
Allen also worked with the Royal Shakespeare Company in a number of stage roles, along with many BBC productions.
Lloyd Patrick Allen (born August 26, 1961 in Seattle, Washington) is a former professional American football player.
Allen graduated from Utah State University, where he starred as a cornerback. He played 7 seasons in the National Football League, all with the Houston Oilers.
Probably more famous for his distinguished voice which has narrated many television adverts and films for over 30 years.
His voice is featured on the smash hit single "Two Tribes" by Frankie Goes to Hollywood.
Provided the voiceovers for the British Government's "Protect and Survive" series of information films in the mid 70s. These were produced to inform the public on how to prepare for nuclear war.
Performed with the Royal Shakespeare Company.
For 14 years he was the compère of Advent in Knightsbridge, a carol concert in West London.
He and actress wife Sarah Lawson (I) had two sons.
