Park Overall (b. March 15, 1957, in Greeneville, Tennessee, U.S.), daughter of Thomas Wesley Overall Jr. and wife Frances Bernard, is an American film and television actress. She is known for her trademark heavy Southern accent.
Overall's first television role was on the hit NBC series Empty Nest, where she played Laverne Higby Todd Kane, nurse to Dr. Harry Weston, played by Richard Mulligan. She later starred in the short-lived TV series Katie Joplin and Ladies Man, both from 1999. Overall did voice work on the animated series The Critic in 1995 and has appeared in TV movies, including the Lifetime drama Fifteen and Pregnant (1998).
Her first feature role was in the 1988 movie Tainted, and she appeared in four additional films that year: Biloxi Blues, Vibes, Mississippi Burning, and Talk Radio (voice). Her most recent appearance was in the 2006 movie To Kill a Mockumentary.
Overall has made guest appearances on TV shows such as The Golden Girls, Nurses, The Young Riders, and Reba, in which she had a recurring role as Lori Ann, Reba Hart's long-time friend, during the series' first season.
Originally from Greeneville, Tennessee, Parker Overall toured East Tennessee with a children's theater group before heading to New York and a career on the professional stage. Numerous off-off-Broadway productions of such plays as "The Seagull" and "The Skin of Our Teeth" preceded her performance as Becky Lou in the Hartford Stage Company's production of Sam Shepard's "The Tooth of Crime." Overall made her Broadway debut as Rowena, the prostitute, in Neil Simon's "Biloxi Blues" and reprised the role in the motion picture version. Other film credits include "Vibes" with Jeff Goldblum and Cyndi Lauper, "Talk Radio," directed by Oliver Stone, "Mississippi Burning" with Gene Hackman and Willem Dafoe and "Kindergarten Cop" with Arnold Schwarzenegger. On television, Overall starred in the Witt-Thomas-Harris pilot "The Line" and has appeared in several productions for The Nashville Network. Parker Overall was named Best Supporting Actress in a Quality Comedy by the members of Viewers for Quality Television (VQT), for her work on the sitcom's "Empty Nest."
