Parasite is a 1982 horror/science fiction film starring Demi Moore in her first major film role. The Soundtrack includes Show A Little Emotion (Freddy Moore) by Boy, produced by Ed Stasium and Liam Sternberg.

An abandoned oil rig in the middle of the North Sea. Dr. Christine Hansen (Saskia Gould) is charged with the task of testing an experimental cleaning fluid which could revolutionize the oil industry. Charles Sadler (David Akin) is experiencing difficulty controlling his physical reactions, stabbing himself in the hand and killing his girlfriend (Tori Davis). Dr. John Wilson (Robert Taminga) has made tenure with his exploration of parapsychological cases, much to the chagrin of his younger colleague, Dr. Richard Austin (David Gaffney), a confirmed skeptic. At a party, Dr. Wilson introduces Dr. Austin to a visiting paranormal case, Miss Helena Voyich (Julia Matias), a one-legged woman who claims to be capable of mesmerism, a form of very powerful hypnosis dismissed by science in the late nineteenth century. Paul Dean has creted a deadly parasite that is now attached to his stomach. He and his female companion, Patricia Welles, must find away to destroy it while also trying to avoid Ricus and his rednecks and an evil government agent named Merchant. Written by Josh Pasnak

Set in the year 1992, ten years after a limited nuclear war as destroyed most of the USA, scientist Paul Dean has developed a new form of leach-like parasite which can grow to large portions every time it eats. Then, evil government agents storm his lab and he's forced to flee deep in the nearby desert and persued by a "merchant" (government agent) intent on reclaiming the last two parasites Paul has. The first is in a silver container, the other is in Paul's abdomen. Paul seeks shelter in a small desert town populated by scavengers which threaten his work, while one local girl, Patrica Wells, forms an alliance with Paul to help him find a way to kill the parasite within him without killing himself, as well as find a way to kill the other one which gets loose and will soon multiply into many thousands unless killed soon.
