Oskar Schindler (28 April 1908 - 9 October 1974) was a Sudeten German industrialist credited with saving almost 1,200 Jews during the Holocaust, by having them work in his enamelware and ammunitions factories located in what is now Poland and the Czech Republic respectively. blank">Herbert Steinhouse, "The Real Oskar Schindler", Saturday Night Magazine, April, 1994.
