Orca is a 1977 horror film directed by Michael Anderson and produced by Dino De Laurentiis and starring Richard Harris and Charlotte Rampling. The film was one of a long line of marine-related horror-disaster films that followed the success of 1975's Jaws. In this film, the antagonist is a Killer Whale or Orca.

The fisherman and owner of a fishing vessel, Captain Nolan (Richard Harris), becomes aware of the economical value of an orca whale alive through the lecture of the biologist Rachel Bedford (Charlotte Rampling) and decides to capture one to pay the mortgage of his ship. However, the operation fails and he kills a pregnant female whale and its offspring. The angry male orca, after grieving the loss of its mate & offspring, seeks revenge against Captain Nolan.
