Olivia Jane d'Abo (born January 22, 1969 in London, United Kingdom) is an English actress and singer-songwriter. She has numerous supporting roles, particularly in science fiction, cartoon, horror-thriller, fantasy, comedy, crime-drama television programs and movies, such as Star Trek: The Next Generation (1992), The Legend of Tarzan (2001), The Twilight Zone (2002), Conan the Destroyer (1984), The Wonder Years (1988-1992), Greedy (1994) and Law & Order: Criminal Intent (2002-2005). Most recently, she appeared as the ex-wife of Sheriff Jack Carter on Sci-Fi Channel's Eureka.
She is perhaps best known for her role as "Karen Arnold" on The Wonder Years. She played a hippie character who later moved to Alaska. She was in the main cast of the show in the first four seasons before leaving to pursue other projects.
Olivia d'Abo is also the first cousin of Maryam d'Abo, the actress best known for her performance as Kara Milovy in the 1987 James Bond film The Living Daylights. D'Abo was married to music producer and songwriter Patrick Leonard, from whom she is now estranged. She has one child, Oliver William d'Abo, born in November 11, 1996.
D'Abo is the daughter of the model Maggie London and Mike d'Abo of the Manfred Mann band. She has three brothers and one sister, Benjamin, the older, and Bruno, the younger, followed by fraternal twins Ella and Louis born November 2007 to her Father. She was engaged to actor Thomas Jane from 1998 to 2001. They worked in several projects together including The Velocity of Gary and Jonni Nitro, which Jane directed. d'Abo also wrote and performed the title theme to Jonni Nitro.
In 2005, she appeared in the Broadway play The Odd Couple with Matthew Broderick and Nathan Lane. She is also an accomplished singer-songwriter: her first CD, entitled Turku, is slated for a 2007 release. Other musical projects d'Abo has worked on includes: backing vocals for Julian Lennon's "Help Yourself", an acoustic duet version of Bon Jovi's "Living On A Prayer", produced by Leonard, that appears on their This Left Feels Right hits CD. d'Abo also wrote the title track and background vocals for Latin singing star Laura Pausini's "Love Comes from the Inside".
She has made multiple appearances on Television crime-drama Law & Order: Criminal Intent as Nicole Wallace, lead character Robert Goren's nemesis, and on the Sci-Fi channels' original series Eureka in the role of Abby Carter.
