Nickolas Gene Carter (born January 28 1980) is an American actor, musician, and pop singer. He is a member of the music group the Backstreet Boys.
Thomas Russell ("Nick") Carter (born September 5, 1924 — died November 23, 2003) was a racing cyclist from Nelson, New Zealand, who won a silver medal in the men's track competition at the 1950 Commonwealth Games in Auckland. He also competed in the road race at the 1948 Summer Olympics in London.
Clarence "Nick" Carter of San Francisco, California, was an outstanding amateur tennis player in the 1940s and 1950s.
In 1948, he was the runner-up at the U.S. Clay Court Championships (falling to Richard "Pancho" Gonzalez in the final) and reached the round of 16 at the U.S. National Championships.
Carter won the singles championship at the Cincinnati Masters in 1946, defeating Filipino Davis Cupper Felicisimo Ampon in the Round of 16, Earl Cochell in the quarterfinals, George Ball of El Paso, Texas, in the semifinals and George Richards, of San Diego, California, in the final. He also won the doubles title in Cincinnati that year with Norman Brooks of San Francisco, California.
He also won the Northern California tennis title three times.
His daughter, Denise Carter-Triolo, also played on the tennis circuit.
