Nadia Abu El Haj (born 1962 in New York ) is an American academic with a PhD in Anthropology. She is an assistant professor of anthropology at Barnard College and the Director of Graduate Studies for the Department of Anthropology at Columbia University.

The author of Facts on the Ground: Archaeological Practice and Territorial Self-Fashioning in Israeli Society (2001), Abu El Haj became the center of a tenure battle at Barnard and Columbia University during the 2006-07 academic year. The University ultimately granted her tenure in November 2007.
