Mitchell Hurwitz is an Emmy-winning American television writer and producer. He is the creator of the television program Arrested Development and co-creator of The Ellen Show, and was a contributor to The John Larroquette Show and Golden Girls. He is a graduate of Georgetown University.

His most recent project is a US television adaptation of the UK comedy show The Thick of It. The series was in the running for ABC's 2007-2008 season, but was not picked up. Other networks, including HBO, Showtime and NBC, have expressed interest in the show.
