Miriam Shor (born July 25, 1971) is an American film and television actress. She most recently starred in the ABC television series Big Day, which premiered in November of 2006, and appeared in the films Hedwig and the Angry Inch and Shortbus. She was also in the original theatrical production of Hedwig and the Angry Inch. Miriam will appear in the CBS television series Swingtown as Janet Thompson which has been announced for a midseason premiere date.
Shor was born in Minneapolis, Minnesota. She is Jewish.
Her parents divorced when she was 7 and she alternated between living in Turin, Italy (with her mother), and suburban Detroit (with her father).
Graduated from Ferndale High in 1989 and ceased alternating location.
Most notable role, Yitzhak in the Broadway production "Hedwig and the Angry Inch" was presented to her on a tiny slip of paper by agent in 1998. It said, "A man to be played by a woman. Surly, Jewish, Croatian. Ex-drag queen billed as Krystall Nacht, the Last Jewess of the Balkans."
Attended the University of Michigan where she played a variety of roles including three different shows in which she played the Virgin Mary.
