Michael Craig Judge (born 17 October 1962 in Guayaquil, Ecuador) is an American animator, actor, voice actor, writer, director, and producer, best-known as the creator and star of the hit animated television series Beavis and Butt-head and King of the Hill. He also wrote and directed the films Beavis and Butt-head Do America, Office Space, and Idiocracy.
Mike Judge is the current American football wide receivers coach for Harvard University. He played college football at Springfield College, where he was a four-year letterman. He also spent those four years as an intern with the New England Patriots, and after graduating from Springfield College in 2005, joined the Patriots' coaching staff for the 2005 season. He spent his first year working with defensive coordinator Eric Mangini and his second, 2006, with offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels before leaving for Harvard.
Received a BS in physics from the University of California, San Diego.
He participated in Boy Scouts as a cub scout.
Raised in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
Co-founded The Animation Show in 2003, a festival of animation that put animated short films into more movie theaters in North America than any other in history.
He created "Beavis and Butt-Head" (1993) for MTV and "King of the Hill" (1997) for Fox. In late 1996 he was determined to get "King of the Hill" (1997) off the ground and bring "Beavis and Butt-Head" (1993) to an end. This resulted in a struggle with both networks as he tried to convince them that they were two completely separate shows. Wanting to work on "King of the Hill" (1997) for Fox while not completely turning his back on MTV, he relented to allowing a series focusing on Daria but wanted to put the project in someone else's hands.
The characters of Mr. Tom Anderson (from "Beavis and Butt-Head" (1993)) and Hank Hill (from "King of the Hill" (1997)) are based, in part, on his experiences with his neighbors in Texas.
Played bass guitar for Anson Funderburgh and The Rockets, a Dallas based blues band, and for Doyle Bramhall, a Texas-based musician.
Speaks fluent Spanish.
