Michael Jacobs is a writer whose work has appeared on Broadway, Off-Broadway, television and film. He is the creator/producer of several popular television series including Boy Meets World, Dinosaurs, Charles In Charge, My Two Dads and The Torkelsons. His television shows have won the Emmy, People's Choice, Parent's Choice and Environmental Media awards, among others.
At twenty-two years old, his play, "Cheaters" opened at the Biltmore Theater, making him one of the youngest playwrights in Broadway history. His next play, "Getting Along Famously" was produced Off-Broadway at the Hudson Guild Theater.
He was nominated for the Academy Award and the Golden Globe for "Best Picture" in 1994 for producing the motion picture, Quiz Show, which also won the N.Y. Film Critic's Circle Award.
His production company, "Michael Jacobs Productions" has been in long-term development partnerships with Universal, Tri-Star, Disney and NBC Studios. His television shows have appeared on ABC, NBC, CBS, FOX and The WB television networks.
He is the writer of the "Charles In Charge" theme song.
