Michael Caton-Jones (born Michael Jones in Broxburn, Lothian, Scotland in 1958) is the director of such films as Scandal, Rob Roy, Memphis Belle and The Jackal.
Caton-Jones went to St Marys Academy in Bathgate, Wellington College and trained at the National Film and Television School in Beaconsfield, Bucks, UK. Jones married Beverly Caton and both changed their surnames to Caton-Jones. They have a daughter, Daisy, born while he was attending film school. Jones and Caton later divorced and in 2000 he married Laura Viederman.
His film Basic Instinct 2 won several Razzies at the 2007 ceremony.
Has a younger sister, Breigh.
