Method Man & Redman, also known as Method & Red, are a hiphop duo, consisting of rap superstars Method Man (of Wu-Tang Clan) and Redman. They are both signed with the record label Def Jam. In September 1999, they released their first album, Blackout!, which they recorded in early 1999 while on the road as part of the hugely successful Hard Knock Life Tour, and promoted it during the Family Values Tour. In 2001, they starred together in the film How High. They were also on a sitcom together named Method & Red. They have worked together on numerous occasions as contributing artists.
Method Man often gives a shout out to Redman on tracks that do not feature Redman; this usually comes in the form of "What up, Doc!" referring to Redman's alias "Funk Doctor Spock".
On March 27 2007 Redman confirmed on BET's Rap City: Tha Bassment that the sequel to How High, How High 2, is currently being written.
In an April 10 2007 Onion AV Club interviewblank">http://www.avclub.com/content/interview/redman, Redman hinted that there would be a second collaborative album with Method Man, with work beginning in midsummer or early September.
The duo, who've known each other since they were kids, reunited in 1994 on tour and met again in 1995 in the recording studio of _2Pac's "Got My Mind Made Up". After this they had friendly battles freestyling with each other on Yo! MTV Raps which led to their collaboration single How High. They recorded many tracks together until they finally released Blackout!.
In April, they both plan on having a concert entitled "Method Man vs. Redman - Live in Prague"
