Meg Foster (born Megan Foster in May 10, 1948) is an American actress.
Foster was born in Reading, Pennsylvania. Since the 1990s, she acted mainly in stage productions and B-movies. Meg's most famous features are her icy blue eyes. She played Detective Christine Cagney on the first season of Cagney and Lacey (following Loretta Swit, who played the character in the TV movie pilot), until she was replaced, after just six episodes into the debut season, by Sharon Gless. She also guest starred in the Star Trek: Deep Space Nine season four episode "The Muse". She is also known for playing the villainous Evil-Lyn in the big screen version of Masters of the Universe and the greek goddess Hera in Hercules: The Legendary Journeys.
Foster has worked extensively in the theatre since studying with Sanford Meisner at the Neighborhood Playhouse in New York. Her stage credits include "King Lear," "Barabbas," "Three Sisters" and "Extremities," among others.
She was replaced with Sharon Gless on "Cagney & Lacey" (1982) after 6 episodes. CBS reportedly wanted somebody more 'feminine'.
