Medium is an American drama television series which premiered on NBC on January 3 2005. The series is about Allison DuBois (Patricia Arquette) who acts as a research medium for the Phoenix, Arizona, district attorney's office. The show is based on experiences from self-proclaimed spiritual medium Allison DuBois, who has claimed to have worked with law enforcement agencies across the country in criminal investigations.
Medium is created by Glenn Gordon Caron and produced by Picturemaker Productions and Grammnet Productions in association with CBS Paramount Television. Currently, it is the only series produced by the latter that does not air on CBS or the CW (CBSPT, CBS, and 50% of the CW are owned by CBS Corporation).
Allison Dubois works in the Phoenix District Attorney's office. She uses her psychic abilities to help crack criminal cases. Her dreams often give her clues to the whereabouts of missing people, and by touching someone she often gets to see beneath the facade into the person's soul. Allison juggles this stressful job with her role as wife and mother of three children, including a daughter who seems to be developing similar powers. Written by Ron Kerrigan
