Matt Houston is an American crime drama series starring Lee Horsley as a wealthy mustachioed Texas oilman named Matlock "Matt" Houston who worked as a private investigator in Los Angeles in his abundant free time. The show also starred Pamela Hensley as his lawyer sidekick, C.J. and George Wyner as his continuously frustrated business manager. During the show's third and final season (1984-1985), Buddy Ebsen joined the cast as Matt Houston's uncle, Roy Houston.
An Aaron Spelling production, it ran on the ABC network from 1982 to 1985.
Each week Matt Houston, a successful private investigator, takes on a new case. The cases usually involve murder, and always involve beautiful women in skimpy outfits. Drawing on his years of experience and investigative skills, and with a little help from his assistant, C.J., Houston always manages to bring the bad guys (or girls) to justice. Now among his many businesses is a private investigation agency which for some reason takes up most of his time, which infuriated Murray his business manager, who is left holding the bag. He is assisted by C.J. Parsons, his lawyer and friend. Also seen during the first season was Lt. Vince Novelli, Houston's police contact and friend. Also seen was Vince's mother, who ran a restaurant, which Houston frequented. Also seen were Houston's ranch hands Bo and Lamar. During the second season, Novelli and his mother were gone, and Bo and Lamar were not there that much. Lt. Hoyt was Houston's new contact though they didn't begin amicably. During the third season, Houston's uncle Roy, who was among other things a former CIA agent, joined him and even helped him now and then. Written by rcs0411@yahoo.com
