Leslie Mark Hughes, OBE (born November 1, 1963 in Ruabon, Wrexham, Wales), nicknamed Sparky, is a former Welsh international football player and currently manager of Blackburn Rovers. As an international footballer, he made 72 appearances and scored 16 goals.

During his playing career, he was most notable for his two spells at Manchester United, but he also turned out for FC Barcelona of Spain, Bayern Munich of West Germany, as well as the English clubs Chelsea, Southampton, Everton and finally Blackburn Rovers, before retiring in 2002.

His reign as Wales manager was his first managerial post; he was appointed in 1999 and remained in the role until 2004.

Mark Anthony Hughes (born December 9, 1986 in Liverpool, England) is an English footballer, currently playing for Northampton Town.

Born in Merseyside, he joined Everton the age of seven and progressed to the rank of reserve team captain. Although he plays as a central defender, he is very capable of being a regular goal scorer, both from the penalty spot and in open play.

Mark Hughes spent a period of 2006 out on loan at Stockport County in League 2. He signed a new 1 year deal with Everton in April 2006 to keep him at the club until the summer of 2007.

He was a regular captain for the reserves team and has made one appearance in the Everton first team when he played at centre back in the Football League Cup game against Peterborough United on 20 September 2006 and Everton won 2-1.

Mark made his Premiership debut for Everton on December 32006, being substituted on in the final minutes of a 2-0 victory over West Ham United at Goodison Park.

He moved to Northampton Town on January 31, 2007 for an undisclosed fee and signed a two year contract. He has since become a first choice centreback under Stuart Gray, and scored his first goal for the club against Rotherham United on the 24th March 2007.

Hughes was Member of Parliament for Durham from 1970 to 1983, and the (slightly renamed) City of Durham from 1983 to 1987, when he stood down. From 1975 to 1979, he was also a Member of the European Parliament.

Mark Hughes was a fictional character in ITV's Emmerdale. He was played by Craig McKay. Mark died in the 1993 plane crash that devastated the village.

His stepfather Joe Sugden wanted him to return a vacuum cleaner that evening which had been borrowed from Lynn Whiteley and this resulted in Mark being in the wrong place at the wrong time when a large section of the Eastern European airliner came down on Whiteley's farm.

Mark R. Hughes (born October 13, 1973 in Hillsboro, Illinois) is a former professional mixed martial arts fighter. He trained with the Miletich Fighting Systems along with his twin brother and former UFC Welterweight Champion, Matt Hughes.

Mark and Matt competed in a wrestling tournament at their school and ended up facing off in the finals. Mark won the match, showcasing both his wrestling prowess and the strength that the Hughes brothers are known for.

After fighting in the UFC, Mark decided that it just wasn't for him and he went back to his family, the farm and his construction company (Hughes Construction).

Mark Anthony Hughes (born 16 September 1983 in Dungannon, Northern Ireland) is a tough tackling, Northern Irish footballer, with Chester City.

Mark started his career at Tottenham Hotspur, coming through their youth system and breaking into the reserve side. Mid way through the 2003/2004 season he was loaned out to Oldham Athletic where he impressed sufficiently to be signed permanently for a nomimal fee. He played a little over one season at Oldham before new boss John Sheridan decided he was surplus to requirements and terminated his contract.

From Oldham Athletic he moved into the non-league with Thurrock, but was back in the league a few months later, joining League One side Chesterfield agreed to take him on loan. Three months later, he was on the move again, joining Nationwide Conference club Stevenage Borough a club on very good terms with Tottenham Hotspur and where many ex-Spurs players have wound up. Mark struggled to establish himself in a disappointing league campaign for Stevenage and was once again released, with another former Spurs youngster Stuart Lewis (a fellow tough tackling midfielder) signing for the club.

Hughes is now with Chester City after impressing on trial in July and August 2007. He made his debut for the club on the opening day of 2007-08 against Chesterfield and has been a regular starter for the club in the first few weeks of the current season. He scored his first goal for the club in a 2-0 win at Bury on September 15 2007.

Mark Hughes (born October 5 1966, in Muskegon, Michigan) is an American basketball coach.

He has played collegiately for University of Michigan (1985-89) and was the captain of the 1989 NCAA Championship team. On the professional level, he was under contract (but has not played in any regular season games) with the Detroit Pistons (1991) and the Toronto Raptors (1996) in the NBA. He has played professionally in France and Italy (for Scaini Venezia in 1991-93 ).

He was the head coach of the Grand Rapids Hoops of the CBA from 1997 to 2002, the team he has also played for from 1995 to 1998.

He worked as an assistant coach in the NBA for the Orlando Magic (2002-04) and Sacramento Kings (2006-07).
