Maine Pyaar Kyun Kiya? (Hindi: मैंने प्यार क्यों किया?, Urdu: مینے پیار کیوں کیا, English: Why did I fall in love?) is an Indian Bollywood movie, released on July 15 2005, directed by David Dhawan. It is about the relationships of a womanizing doctor named 'Samir' (Salman Khan) who gets ultimately stuck between two women: a patient with suicidal tendencies named 'Sonia' (Katrina Kaif) and his nurse 'Naina' (Sushmita Sen).
The movie is a remake of the 1969 Hollywood comedy Cactus Flower, starring Walter Matthau, Ingrid Bergman and Goldie Hawn.
The tagline of the movie is "Liar liar, love's on fire".
An Indian flirt named Samir, who is a doctor, has affairs with many girls. But these affairs do not last long as he gets bored of them and dumps them. He has a variety of excuses to dump them, chief amongst them being that he is already married and cannot divorce his wife. He carries on in this way and breaks many a heart. Then he meets with an attractive young woman whose name is Sonia, and falls head over heels in love with her. He is now in a fix, for he has already told her that he is married. So how is he going to get out of this hot soup that he has created for himself? Simple, he asks a nurse in his clinic to pose as his wife, who he will eventually divorce and then get married to Sonia.
