Lucky Charms is a popular brand of breakfast cereal produced by the General Mills cereal company of Golden Valley, Minnesota. The cereal consists of two main components: small, toasted bits of oats and multi-colored marshmallow bits (or marbits) in various "magical" shapes making up over 25 percent of the cereal's volume. The label features an affable leprechaun mascot, Lucky, animated in commercials.
"Lucky" is the second single from pop singer Britney Spears' second album Oops!... I Did It Again. It was released during the third quarter of 2000.
The song was primarily written and produced by Max Martin and Rami, and is about an actress, who despite being very "lucky" and seemingly having it all - fame, wealth, beauty, is truly lonely on the inside for unknown reasons ("If there's nothing missing in my life, then why do these tears come at night?").
"Lucky" is a song by the rock band Radiohead, found on their 1997 album OK Computer. It was originally recorded for The Help Album, a 1995 compilation to benefit the War Child charity and appeared on Now That's What I Call Music! 32 as "Lucky (Warchild)". It was released as a limited single at the time, but did not chart. Following its inclusion on OK Computer, it was also released as a radio promo in 1998.
"Lucky" is what the band considers a happy song. They tried to remix the track for their third album but found they couldn't improve on it. The song originally came about when Ed O'Brien was fiddling around in the sound check for a show in Japan, and putting his effects pedals together in a different order, which resulted in the familiar opening sounds of 'Lucky', when he strummed the strings above the nut on the headstock of his guitar.
"Lucky" was one of the first songs the band recorded with Nigel Godrich, who would become their full time producer on OK Computer and the subsequent three albums.
"Lucky" also appeared near the end and during the closing credits of an episode (Parallel Play, Episode 3, Season 4) of the HBO series Six Feet Under. It appears on Six Feet Under, Vol. 2: Everything Ends. Until the release of In Rainbows in 2008, it was one of only three Radiohead songs available on iTunes, along with "I Want None Of This", recorded for the second War Child album Help-A Day in the Life and "Talk Show Host" from the Romeo + Juliet soundtrack album.
A live version recorded at Florence was included in the "No Surprises" single.
Lucky has been covered by Warren Haynes and is featured on his Live from Bonnaroo album. It has also been covered live by John Frusciante (Red Hot Chili Peppers guitarist). My Brightest Diamond have made a cover version of it as well.
"Lucky (In My Life)" is a single by Eiffel 65 and the first track of their album, Contact!. While most of the band's songs combine fantasy with subtle messages, Lucky (In My Life) is a simple, happy song centered around the better things in life. The video for this song features the band and three nearly look-alikes of the band. The video describes three ordinary people watching Eiffel 65 music videos and idolizing the band when they too become their idols.
Lucky Twice is a Swedish teenage pop duo from Malmö consisting of fifteen year old Hannah Reynold and sixteen year old Sofie Larsson. They are signed to Family Tree Music in Sweden. They are said to be lesbian and together as a couple.
Their first single "Lucky", was released in Spain on July 20,2006 through Vale Music. It went to number 1 in the singles chart and was certified double platinum. Their album Young & Clever was released in June 2007 and was followed on July 23 by the single "Hop Non Stop".
"Lucky" has also hit the charts in Denmark (# 5), France (# 8), Finland (# 17), Germany (# 41), Austria (# 42) and Sweden {# 43). Despite some video rotation, press interest and a performance at G-A-Y in London, the release of the CD single was cancelled in the United Kingdom after some record label complications.
