"Love (Makes Me Do Foolish Things)" is a 1965 soul single by Motown girl group Martha and the Vandellas. A rare ballad for the group, whose forte was reportedly uptempo soul dance numbers including "Dancing in the Street" and "Nowhere to Run", the b-side to the group's single, "You've Been in Love Too Long", the song peaked at #70 on the Billboard Hot 100 singles chart and #22 on the Billboard Hot R&B singles chart. The song, written and produced by Holland-Dozier-Holland, has the narrator explain why love makes her do things she later regrets.
Love? was the Irish entry in the Eurovision Song Contest 2005, performed in English by Donna & Joe.
The song (the first Irish entry to be performed in a Eurovision semi-final) is an up-tempo duet with the brother-and-sister duo singing about the problems that love can cause. They explain, for example, that "Love can make you happy/Love can make you cry/Love can be the best/Until it's passed you by". The song was criticised by many fans for being a break from the traditional Irish ballad, as well as having a relatively repetitive structure.
The song was performed in the semi-final as Ireland had not finished the 2004 Contest in the top ten. Here, it was performed twenty-second (following Bulgaria's Kaffe with Lorraine and preceding Slovenia's Omar Naber with Stop). At the close of voting, it had received 53 points, placing 14th in a field of 25 and thus missing out on the final and requiring Ireland to qualify through the semi-final at their next Contest appearance.
It was succeeded as Irish representative at the 2006 Contest by Brian Kennedy with Every Song Is A Cry For Love.
Despite it's infamy, the song has lived on in the ears, if not the hearts, of Irish people. Today FM DJ Ray Foley has used clips from the song in a segment of his show called the Entertainment Update, for several years. In this, Ray, his co-host JP and the show's producer inform listeners of entertainment news across the world. After closing their segment with (usually) a bad pun, and fake laughter from the three "anchors", the four-note dramatic flourish from Love? is heard.

The song was nominated for an Oscar in 1974.
