Little Britain is a character-based sketch show first appearing on BBC radio and then television. It was written by and stars Matt Lucas and David Walliams. Its title is an amalgamation of the terms 'Little England' and 'Great Britain', and is also the name of a Victorian neighbourhood and modern street in London (and is also the name of a street in Dublin). An American version of the series will be made for HBO by Lucas and Walliams in 2008.

Many of the characters on the show have their own often-repeated catchphrases. Many have become well-known in the United Kingdom, and the show has gained a mainstream following.

Based on the highly successful Radio 4 series, Little Britain is a hilarious exploration of the British Isles and its curious inhabitants after a successful pilot earlier this year. Among them are: teenage troublemaker Vicky Pollard; caregiver Lou Todd, who doesn't realise that Andy Pipkin, the lazy fat man he looks after who sits in a wheelchair, can actually walk; Sebastian Love, the gay assistant of the Prime Minister; Ray McCooney, eccentric manager of a Scottish hotel; Majorie Dawes, the cruel leader of the "Fat Fighters" who makes fun of fat men and women in her diet class; overweight woman Bubbles De Vere; former Welsh children's TV presenter Des Kaye, who works in a DIY superstore; gay Welshman Daffyd Thomas, who claims he is "the only gay in the village"; and many more.
