Lisa Canning (born November 7, 1966) is an American television and radio hostess and correspondent. Her credits include Entertainment Tonight, Dancing with the Stars, "Beyond With James Van Praagh"(as the backstage interviewer/skeptic) and the Pax show Destination Stardom. In addition to work as hostess and correspondent, Canning is an actress, having appeared in the feature films Scream, Intermission, and The Day After Tomorrow, along with the television soap operas General Hospital and The Young and the Restless. She is married to Harold Austin and lives in Los Angeles, California.
Lisa Canning is one of television's most popular and admired on-air personalities. Best known to viewers around the world for her work as an on-air correspondent for Entertainment Tonight from 1996-1999, she is also a talented actress who has appeared in a number of series and feature films. Most recently, Canning hosted the talent search show _"Destination Stardom" (1989)_ for the PAX Network. Her television acting credits include a recurring role on "General Hospital" (1963), as well as episodic appearances on such series as Veronica's Closet, The Cosby Show and High Incident. She also co-hosted ABC's late night talk show "Into the Night with Rick Dees" (1990), ABC's 2000 Live Emmy Pre-show and the syndicated series Knights and Warriors. Her feature film credits include Alan Smithee Film: Burn Hollywood Burn, An (1997) and Scream (1996), in which she played the "masked reporter." Born in the United States Virgin Islands, Canning currently lives in Los Angeles. In her spare time, she likes to travel, practice yoga and work with underprivileged children.
