Nick News is a television show on Nickelodeon that has aired since 1991. It takes the form of a news program, discussing important issues in a format intended for children, including teen voices on a number of issues and topics.
The show has been hosted by Linda Ellerbee since its inception. Throughout the years, it has featured many special guests, such as Magic Johnson, Bill Clinton, and Phil McGraw.
Linda Ellerbee (born Linda Jane Smith in Bryan, Texas, U.S., August 15, 1944) is a journalist who is most known for several jobs at NBC News, including Washington (DC) correspondent, and reporter and co-anchor of NBC News Overnight, which was recognized by the duPont Columbia Awards as "the best written and most intelligent news program ever."

Her Nickelodeon TV "Nick News Special Edition: My Family is Different" logged some 100,000 e-mails and calls in protest about its gay-parenting content, before the show even aired 18 June 2002. The campaign was reportedly organized by the Traditional Values Coalition. Both Ellerbee and Rosie O'Donnell hosted the special.
